Galfan® Systems

QED is proud to be on the leading edge of Galfan®  equipment technology, having designed and commisssioned several of the wire Galfan® lines operating in the world today.  This hot-dip process uses our Ceramic Lined baths with either Immersion Burner or Top Heated combustion technologies. The process includes; heat-treating, pickling, hot-dipping and pad wiping zinc, pre-Galfan flux, Galfan® bath and Nitrogen Wiping.

Our Galfan® Furnace, heated with QED’s patented “Pressure Feedback Signal” control system, combine exceptionally stable performance with enhanced operations. As with all our equipment, each bath is custom designed to suit your production requirements.

QED Wire is an approved Galfan Equipment Supplier providing Galfan Technology for the coating of steel wire.  The Associate license was granted by the Galfan Technology Center.

Immersion Burner Galfan®

  Features

High efficiency and lower fuel costs
 Excellent bath temperature uniformity
Average tube life of 8 to 12 months
No zinc oxide contamination of the flue gasses
No obstructions to the wire path

The Mark III immersion burner’s high thermal efficiency is achieved by pre-heating the incoming air through the recuperative burner head. With this latest combustion design, the burners are capable of 30% and higher fuel savings over conventional galvanizer designs. Our proportional mass-flow combustion system accurately controls the firing rate of each burner.  Technological improvements of the silicon carbide immersion tubes has contributed to longer tube life and greater reliability.

Top Heated Galfan®

QED's ruggedly constructed Top Heated Galfan® bath provides our customers with reliable performance at very reasonable cost. Special low velocity burners fire into a combustion chamber that is sealed into the zinc/aluminum surface. The combustion hood is easily raised for periodic maintenance. The heat-transfer rate is carefully calculated to maximize production and minimize the rate of oxide formation.

 Features + Options

 Low maintenance operation
 Lower capital costs
 Proven reliable design
 High combustion turn-down ratio
No obstructions to the wire path
Ceramic Sinker Assembly with lifting mechanism
Full combustion safeties designed to suit local codes
Fully tested control panel with digital temperature controllers
Microprocessor based integrated burner control modules
